BARTLETT, Tenn. - A Fayette County man is confused and heartbroken, baffled and exasperated, as he desperately searches for answers, wanting to know why a Shelby County Sheriff deputy shot and killed his fiancée. It happened Saturday in Bartlett at Ellis Road near Golden Valley Lane after Melissa Horton was chased by deputies. The chase began somewhere in Shelby County before Horton was fatally shot. Preston Morris and Melissa Horton were to be married in just a few months.
